Passion for Education, Career Development, and Community

Calvin Michael Moniz was elected to the Tulsa Public Schools Board of Education with overwhelming support, capturing 65% of the District 2 vote. His leadership has been defined by a commitment to local control, liberty, and equality in education, underscoring his dedication to providing equal access to quality public education for all students. Calvin’s priorities include teacher retention, equitable compensation for educators and support staff, transparent district operations, and responsible partnerships that maximize taxpayer impact.


Calvin has called Tulsa home for over 20 years. A graduate of The University of Tulsa, where he earned his business degree, MBA, and law degree, he has lived in Tulsa Public Schools District 2 for more than 15 years. Actively engaged in his Kendall-Whittier neighborhood, Calvin also served as a Citizen Representative for the Housing and Urban Development Community Development Committee in City of Tulsa Council District 4.


In his 11 years with The University of Tulsa, Calvin raised essential funds for student and academic support, developed corporate partnerships, taught as an adjunct professor, and led the Business Career Center, where he guided students into meaningful career pathways. He currently serves as the University Relations and Early Careers Supervisor for the Love’s Family of Companies, continuing his dedication to career development by creating opportunities for students seeking their first professional roles.

A proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Calvin Michael Moniz is committed to fostering an educational environment that meets the future needs of Tulsa and strengthens its communities.
